While variety is the spice of life, too much variety in a product line can be distracting and lead to inferior products, particularly when they are handmade. Keep things simple and you have the time and energy to focus on customer service and a high-quality product.

Our candles come in three sizes: 16, 8, and 3 ounce containers. The 16 and 8 ounce product are made in 4" diameter apothecary style jars with heavy flat-glass lids. The 3 ounce product is a tureen style container with a twist-on gold metal lid. For candles, that's it - simple, classic styling for the container, with a wide variety of colors and a large selection of fragrances. All candles come with a safety label on the bottom of the jar, and our product label with scent name, size, etc on the lids. The sides of the candles, particularly the larger ones, are left open, so if you purchase one for your home decor you won't have to try to peel or hide a label.

The 16 and 8 ounce candles are double wicked, which leads to a clean and even burning candle that consumes all the wax you paid for. Also, by being able to establish a full "melt pool" across the entire container, the fragrance has a greater atmospheric penetration, since the power of the fragrance is released as the wax is liquefied. That said, even if you don't actually burn the candle, you will find that many of our fragrances are strong enough to scent a room by just removing the lid and letting it sit. Some fragrances are "lighter" than others of course, so this will not always be true and everyone's nose is different, so "your mileage may vary" as the saying goes.

Because our candles are made by hand in such small batches, they will vary slightly in appearance, as each batch is poured to order. Some fragrance and color combinations will produce a creamy looking candle, while others will produce a white "frosting" or crystallization effect to them. This is a characteristic of using a vegetable wax, much like putting fine chocolate in a refrigerator, and is perfectly normal. It does not affect the candle in any way other than how it looks and is not considered a flaw.
